Calgary RING & SING

The annual RING & SING Handbell and Choir Youth Festival will be taking place in March 2017! Bring your Elementary Choirs and/or Handbell Teams to one of three March dates. Mass Music:

All schools must order and prepare the chosen choir/handbell massed ringing piece: “Sing Away Sadness!”, by Neil Harmon. The number is AG23031.  It comes in a booklet, with reproducible Unison voice parts, scored for 2-1 Octaves of Handbells with an optional 2-3 octaves of Handchimes.  This music would also be great for use in the elementary classroom.  You can order it quickly through www.handbellsetc.ab.ca (403-437-9096).

Schools participating in the Ring and Sing need to use original copies of the music.

You will also have to provide a copy(ies) of “your own choice” music for the adjudicator.

Participants:

Any elementary choir and/or Handbell team may register. Each group needs to arrange for busing to the host school.

Registration:

Registration forms can be printed off here (2017 Ring and Sing Downloadable Registration Form).  You can also contact Anne Hergott (president@algehr.org), and she will email you the appropriate registration form(s).

Registration Fees:

The fee for the festival is $60.00 per choir, and the director must be a member of the Alberta Guild of English Handbell Ringers* ($30/one year $50/two years).  See https://www.algehr.org/members for further information.

Please note: The CSSD will provide all schools with a $100 busing subsidy and will pay for a one year ALGEHR membership for non-members!
